Come on lads, help us support the lady in your life

Makita has adopted Breast Cancer Care as the company's first ever official charity. To celebrate we have launched a limited edition Charity Drill, a pink version of the popular Lithium-ion drill driver. For every drill sold, Makita will donate £5 to Breast Cancer Care ensuring they can help support the thousands of people who are affected by breast cancer.

The goal is to raise £50,000 over the coming months to help Breast Cancer Care provide expert advice and practical support for those affected by this life-threatening illness. We know our donation will help their tireless efforts to increase awareness of the disease and support the thousands of people affected through their free helpline, discussion forums, local events and one-to-one support sessions.

"Sadly most of us will know someone affected by this cruel disease - one person diagnosed every 10 minutes in the UK - and let's not forget that breast cancer affects men as well," says Kevin Brannigan, Makita's Marketing Manager. "It's rare but around 300 men are diagnosed every year."

The Drill

To help raise funds Makita have launched a new limited edition drill, with a pledge to donate £5 for every one sold. The drill is a pink version of the DF330D Li-ion, 10.8v drill driver - complete with one 1.3Ah Li-ion battery, fast charger, drill bit set and bag - which is popular with professional construction workers and, with its small and compact size, ideal for DIYers who want to get busy around the home.
